Named after the AI chatbot developed by xAI, a company established by Elon Musk, $GORK is a Solana-based meme coin that depends on the loyal fan base. $GORK does not have the established team or roadmap as in the case of the other efforts but has already begun to pick up momentum due to its connection to xAI and the tacit endorsement by the influencers.
$GORK began as a tweet on X by the @Gork handle that was a tongue-in-cheek comment made about the Grok AI. Elon Musk’s interactions also fueled the hype. Musk does not follow @Gork but responded to a $GORK comment using a sticker that caused a sea of FOMO within the ecosystem. Musk fueled the mania even more by renaming his X to the name of Gorklon Rust and assuming a Gork avatar on May 5, 2025, as stated in postings on X.
As of May 6th, 2025, $GORK remains in the public eye through a market capitalization of $38 million and a 24-hour trading value of $15 million that reflects active community engagement. The total supply of approximately 1 billion tokens, typical for Solana meme coins has not seen a confirmed partnership between $GORK, xAI, or Elon Musk. Despite this fact, public rumor and the lighthearted involvement of Musk have cemented $GORK as a mainstream meme coin that incorporates AI elements into meme culture.
